Led by a ferocious rushing attack and an ironclad defense, the Alabama Crimson Tide blanked the North Texas Mean Green by the score of 41-0.
Eddie Lacy and Trent Richardson combined for 328 yards rushing and five touchdowns on Saturday night, and even set a school record in the process.
Richardson (167) and Lacy (161) became the first two running backs in Alabama history to rush for over 150 plus yards in the same game.
Richardson, who has eight touchdowns in three games, currently leads the NCAA in scoring.
On the 2011 season, Richardson has 315 yards rushing while Lacy has 304. Lacy currently averages 10.9 yards per rushing attempt.
In respect to Saturday night, the Crimson Tide accumulated 586 yards of total offense while rendering North Texas to just 169.
Mean Green starting quarterback Derek Thompson completed 11-of-22 passes against the stout Alabama defense for a meager 80 yards.
Holding the opposition to less than stellar offensive numbers is nothing new for the Tide defense. After three games, ‘Bama has only allowed an average of six points per contest.
