Saban and staff receive monetary rewards

TUSCALOOSA, Alabama - Nick Saban said Monday that he plans to end his coaching career at Alabama, and if he stays through the end of a contract that has been extended two years, through the 2019 season, he will make almost $45 million.

That's an average of more than $5.6 million per year, not including bonuses such as the $400,000 he received for recently leading the Crimson Tide to its second national championship in the past three seasons.

Outside of the obvious, (the obvious being truck loads of cash) the most telling portion of the story involves Alabama offensive line coach Jeff Stoutland, and his lack of monetary gain.

Just falling short of saying “YES” at Monday’s press conference, Saban did make it clear that Stoutland’s lack of “financial expansion” was/is due to his alleged involvement in the Miami football scandal which “engulfed” the media prior to the 2011 football season.

Business as usual for the Crimson Tide

As Alabama nears the midway point of spring practice, not much has changed since camp began more than one week ago.

Practice in Tuscaloosa has been what you would come to expect from any spring session.

The “storyline” has been rather predicable; basic fundamentals, “slight” rotation shuffles, and a first glimpse at early enrollees who may or may not play a vital role for the Crimson Tide this fall.

From the perspective of the fan, spring practice isn’t the most “flattering” portion of the football parade, but when the season becomes a “pressure cooker,” the days of learning the basics and mastering the playbook will prove paramount.

While so much can happen between March and August, the core of the 2012 Alabama Crimson Tide football team is being molded and refined this very second.

Alabama to offer four-year scholarships

"We're going to offer four-year scholarships," Saban said. "Our whole conference is going to do it, all the schools, I think."

"And we're happy to do it."

Bank Account

Guest post written by Rolf Tate

I used to get so tired of going to the bank and waiting in line to deposit a check, transfer money, or even just to check my balance. I heard that you can do all of that online now. I went to www.cleartvbundle.com to have our internet set up. Now I can access our bank account online any time I need to. I set up online bill pay for all of our bills to make sure that all of our bills get paid on time. I can also transfer money to our savings account or to my son’s account if he needs money. My paycheck is direct deposit, so I can check to make sure that it was deposited into my account. Banking online is so much easier than having to go to the bank to do anything. They also have an app that I was able to download so I can access my bank account any time from my phone. I am so glad that we use online banking. It saves so much time.
