Beaver Stadium has a seating capacity of 106,572, but a crowd of 110,000 is expected on Saturday afternoon when Penn State plays host to Alabama.
In order to deal with the raucous atmosphere, Alabama has put the speaker system to good use this week by implementing artificial crowd noise onto the practice field.
Non-verbal play calling, by use of silent counts and hand gestures, will be the essential means of communication for the ‘Bama offense come Saturday.
Via teleconference earlier this week, ‘Bama head coach Nick Saban said wide receiver Duron Carter is expected to make a contribution against Penn State.
Carter, who didn’t enroll at Alabama until late August due to academic transcript issues, is projected to be a vital member of the Crimson Tide offense as the season progresses.
