As reported last week, linebacker Alfy Hill has been deemed an academic nonqualifier due to certain high school courses that did not meet certification.
The original “assumption” was that Hill would attend a prep school or junior college and then return to Alabama once his academic necessities were satisfied.
However, as reported by many credible media outlets on Saturday, Alfy Hill will attend East Carolina University.
Hill has already begun the application process and will enter East Carolina as a nonqualifier.
Once all academic requirements have been met, Hill will be eligible to play college football at ECU.
The loss of Alfy Hill is very unfortunate and certainly hurts from a football perspective.
As a high school prospect, Hill was rated the No. 8 defensive end in the nation and the No. 70 overall recruit, according to Rivals.com
Alfy Hill had been participating in fall camp with the Crimson Tide until he received information concerning his academic standing and was declared ineligible.
