Geno Smith Gives Verbal to ‘Bama

One of the most decorated players in the 2012 national signing class has given his verbal to the University of Alabama.

Geno Smith, who attends St. Pius X Catholic High School in Atlanta, selected the Crimson Tide over the likes of Auburn University and a host of other major college programs.

Smith, who plays defensive back, is considered one of the top 50 high school players in the nation.

The Georgia native becomes the 17th verbal commitment for the University of Alabama in respect to the 2012 signing class.
