Linebacker Trey DePriest of Springfield, Ohio gave his verbal commitment to Alabama on Friday afternoon. DePriest chose ‘Bama over the Ohio State Buckeyes.
Listed at 6-foot-2, 230 pounds, DePriest is considered one of the top five linebackers in the nation.
Rivals.com ranks DePriest as a four-star talent and Scout.com ranks him as a five-star prospect.
The Ohio product becomes the fourth linebacker and the sixteenth player overall to give his verbal commitment to the Crimson Tide for the 2011 season.
The new 'Bama signee, who turned 17 last month, is in preparation to graduate high school early so he can enroll at Alabama and participate in spring practice.
