Cooper in black, Faciane back on track

In what has been a rather “uneventful” preseason camp in terms of the injury bug, precautionary or not, the visual of wide receiver Amari Cooper in a black non-contact jersey is bound to draw some attention.
Cooper, who “stole the show” during Alabama’s first scrimmage of preseason camp, has been hampered, to some degree, ever since the Tide resumed practice yesterday morning. Although, today was the first day Cooper adorned the black jersey.

Click the link below in the “tweet grab” to read Andrew Gribble’s account of the Cooper saga, as well as the return of once suspended tight end Malcolm Faciane.
In regards to what could be ailing Cooper, expect Nick Saban to field several questions on the subject within the hour. Courtesy of the video documentation included in the link above, Cooper appears to be working on balance and agility in the form of "hopping" drills.

5:15 p.m. UPDATE: Amari Cooper has a strained foot and is expected to miss a few practice sessions. Given the timing of the situation, one can conclude that Cooper suffered the injury during Saturday's scrimmage.

In addition to the Cooper information, Nick Saban also announced that linebacker Trey DePriest has been suspended for violation of team rules. Per Saban, DePriest will likely return to action in one week.
