Crimson Notes 1/15/10

Alabama defensive back Kareem Jackson has decided to declare himself eligible for the NFL draft. Jackson, a vital piece of the Crimson Tide secondary, is projected to be a second round selection. Best wishes to Kareem as he pursues a career in the NFL.

In the wake of the departure of James Willis, the University of Alabama has promoted director of player development Jeremy Pruitt to a “defensive assistant” position.

The promotion of Pruitt was obviously made possible by the vacancy created by Willis, but the specific job title of/for Pruitt has not been announced at this time.

Once again the Alabama Crimson Tide grace the cover of Sports Illustrated. The latest edition of the magazine features Mark Ingram and “crew” during the national championship contest against the Texas Longhorns.

For the record, this publication IS NOT the special commemorative edition dedicated to Alabama, but rather the “standard” edition of the magazine.
