Laurence "Hootie" Jones gives verbal to Alabama

Neville High School (Monroe, LA) safety Laurence "Hootie" Jones has given his verbal commitment to the University of Alabama for 2014.

Jones, who stands 6-foot-2 and tops the scale at 210-pounds, selected the Crimson Tide over LSU after trimming a very lengthy list of scholarship offers.

Listed as a four-star recruit per Rivals.com, Jones is considered the No. 4 safety prospect in the nation, as well as the No. 4 overall prospect in the state of Louisiana.

With his pledge to the Crimson Tide, Hootie Jones becomes the 23rd verbal commitment in respect to Alabama's 2014 signing class.
