While listed as a defensive tackle, recruiting expert Andrew Bone has indicated that Alabama recruited Reed to play defensive end.

Listed as a three-star prospect per Rivals.com, Reed has led his JUCO to the NJCAA title game which will be played Dec. 8 in Biloxi, MS.
With his pledge to the Crimson Tide, Jarran Reed becomes the 24th verbal commitment in respect to Alabama's 2014 signing class.
