The weekly quotables

The Crimson Elephant Verdict

While the Colorado State/Alabama contest shouldn't be much of a game in respect to head-to-head competition, the game will provide a quality service for both teams.

The Rams will get a nice read on where they stand as a program in terms of talent, heart, and mental resolve, while 'Bama will be able to experiment with personnel on both sides of the ball...especially at the cornerback position.

Excluding the obvious money grab for the Rams, and an easy win for the Tide, the Saturday night contest at Bryant-Denny Stadium will be of great benefit for both teams moving forward.

Jim McElwain is in the process of building a competitive program, while Nick Saban is in the process of sustaining "the process."

Pay little attention to the scoreboard, because the importance of this game won't be recorded in numbers.

Alabama 45
Colorado State 7
