Mike Vollmar, the University of Alabama’s associate athletics director for football, has accepted a position in the athletics department at the University of Michigan.
Vollmar is expected to assume a position similar to the one he held at Alabama.
Prior to his arrival at Alabama in 2008, Mike Vollmar and Nick Saban had previously worked together at Michigan State University.
While Saban was the head coach (1995-99) of the Spartans, Vollmar served as the assistant athletics director, a position he held at MSU for 12 years.
In respect to the University of Michigan, Vollmar served as the assistant recruiting coordinator for the Wolverines from 1988-90.
Vollmar’s father, James, was a running back for the maize and blue in the 1950s.
