Former Alabama quarterback Greg McElroy suffered a cracked bone in his right hand during Saturday’s Under Armour Senior Bowl.
McElroy sustained the injury on the first play of the fourth quarter when he hit his right hand on a helmet (follow-through) after completing a pass to South Alabama’s Courtney Smith.
X-rays confirmed that McElroy suffered a cracked bone near his thumb. The injury will prevent the former Tide quarterback from throwing the football for a period of two weeks.
McElroy, along with former Tide offensive lineman James Carpenter, have been invited to the NFL combine which will be held February 23-March 1 in Indianapolis.
