The awards just keep coming for Alabama senior quarterback Greg McElroy.
On Wednesday, McElroy was named the Southeastern Conference Scholar-Athlete of the Year as voted on by the league’s coaches.
McElroy, a Rhodes Scholar finalist, is currently in his second year of graduate school and maintains a 4.0 grade-point average in sports management.
The Tide quarterback earned his undergraduate degree in marketing while achieving a 3.8 grade-point average.
In other news, a total of four Alabama players have been named to the Freshman All-SEC team for 2010.
Offensive lineman D.J. Fluker, defensive back Dee Milliner, linebacker C.J. Mosley and punter Cody Mandell were honored.
