The absence of Mark Ingram and Marcell Dareus could certainly be a factor against Penn State…but not against San Jose State.

Alabama will use the season opener to evaluate a young secondary and kicking game...among other things.

The top priority will obviously be to win, but the contest with the Spartans will be more about player development and evaluation.

'Bama will take care of business early, before turning the game over to a plethora of young talent.

Establishing team identity (chemistry), showing improvement in all phases of the game and exiting the contest injury free, will be the major objectives come Saturday night.

The No. 1 Alabama Crimson Tide will cruise to victory in a typical “paycheck/name your score” contest.

ALABAMA 49
SAN JOSE STATE 10
