Ty Flournoy-Smith gives verbal to Alabama

On the cusp of national signing day 2014, the Alabama football program has garnered what is expected to be their final verbal commitment before each National Letter of Intent is officially signed.

Tight end Ty Flournoy-Smith, a 3-star prospect per 247Sports, gave his verbal pledge to the Crimson Tide Monday night, a short time after being offered a scholarship. By the numbers, UA's newest commitment stands 6-foot-3 and tops the scale at 230-pounds.
Flournoy-Smith, who becomes UA's 26th commitment, played high school football for Rush Propst at Colquitt County in Moultrie, Georgia.

Originally signed by the University of Georgia in 2012, Flournoy-Smith transferred to Georgia Military College in the summer of 2013.

During his time at UGA, Flournoy-Smith found himself in legal turmoil after being arrested for filing a false police report in regard to stolen textbooks.

Selecting the Crimson Tide over the likes of Louisville and Ole Miss, Flournoy-Smith is the No. 1 JUCO tight end in the country per the composite rating used by the recruiting outlet 247Sports.
