As was reported by several media outlets earlier in the week, former Alabama running back Demetrius Goode has transferred to the University of North Alabama.
The Goode transfer to UNA was confirmed by North Alabama head football coach Terry Bowden on Monday.
According to NCAA rules, Goode, who will be a senior in 2011, can play immediately due to the fact he is transferring to a Division II football program.
Through a social media outlet Goode expressed his gratitude to the University of Alabama.
"I would like to thank my Alabama family for the greatest journey of my life," Goode noted. "I have learned many things and matured in many ways but everyday brings about change. Sometimes you have to move on to do better in life. I will be moving to North Alabama for football. RTR forever in my heart, the champion Tide, the fans that I will always love and never forget. I thank ya'll for the support: ROLL TIDE ROLL. For life."

My Book Blog
Thanks for the guest post by Jo Levy
I thought it was time to put up a blog that related to my business website. My site sells rare and antique books across the country, but there is actually a lot of news published about my industry. I thought my clients would appreciate a centralized place for all that information and I was just dying to have a place to discuss my books.
I did some research on www.DomainNames.com and found a great package for my blog. I already knew my way around HTML code so I just slapped the site up myself using a Wordpress theme! Since then, I’ve been trying to post at least once a week, usually about something going on in the industry. For example, last month there was a conference I attended so I gave my readers the highlights. I also like to post news about the new books in my store including the First Edition Moby Dick I just got in stock! My customers like the site and I’m (excuse the pun) an open book!

Crimson Notes 5/17/11
The University of Alabama received a verbal commitment from four-star linebacker Dillon Lee on Monday.
Lee, who attends Buford High School in Buford, Ga., chose the Crimson Tide over the likes of USC, Florida State and Georgia.
The 6-foot-4 220-pound Georgia product becomes the twelfth verbal commitment for the 2012 signing class.
In the wake of the violent tornado that destroyed a portion of Tuscaloosa, the new edition of Sports Illustrated features a story from Lars Anderson on the role UA coaches and players will play in respect to the rebuilding process of a very proud city and football community.
The cover of the latest SI edition features former Crimson Tide star Javier Arenas standing in the midst of rubble and wreckage.

He was an outstanding young man and we were excited about what he had accomplished as a player and a person in the short time he was with us.
"Our thoughts and prayers go out to his parents, David and Karla, who are two of the best people you will ever meet and the love they had for their son was something very special. As a father, there is nothing we can say to describe the loss of a son. Our Alabama family has sustained a tragic loss and the Alabama family is grieving that loss. Greg and the Jets: McElroy Drafted by New York
Good things come to those who wait…and Greg McElroy waited…and waited.
The former Alabama quarterback was taken at the “midnight hour” by the New York Jets at pick No. 208 in the seventh and final round of the NFL Draft.
McElroy admitted that he fell down the draft board more than he thought, but he also interjected that it’s not where you start in terms of selection, but how you finish your NFL career.
Congratulations to Greg McElroy!
