May in Review: Title rings and Hall of Fame scenes
Once spring practice concludes during the latter portion of April, college football takes a backseat to a plethora of other sports. This “black hole” period often results in the month of May being one of the most lackluster months on the calendar in respect to college football news…most notably University of Alabama football news.
Given the climate that is May, a “block” of newsworthy items that occurred during the month has been compiled to form a “month in review” post.
In no particular order, here are several “nuggets” that came across the wire this month…
Saban inducted into the Alabama Sports Hall of Fame
If dominance over the opposition is a factor when deciding “Hall of Fame” material, then Nick Saban must have tipped the scale.Alabama ’s football leader has officially been enshrined…aight?

Mal Moore named AD of the year
The late Mal Moore has been named the Athletic Director of the Year by the Sports Business Journal. Posthumously honored,Moore passed away in late March following a lengthy illness.

QB Phillip Ely toToledo
The rumors began as early as a week after the national championship game, and finally, months later, those rumors have been validated. Former Tide backup quarterback Philip Ely is now a Toledo Rocket.
With lack of playing time being the obvious reason, Ely has decided to part ways with Alabama, although he will do so on excellent terms. Via Ely’s Twitter feed he praised ‘Bama fans and wished his former teammates nothing but the best in the future.

The proof is in the ring…or rings
